Houllier backed now

Former French and Liverpool boss Gerrard Houllier has emerged as the man that could be named as the new Ireland boss. The current French technical director of football is thought to be the 3 man panel of Ray Houghton, Don Howe, and Don Givens choice to suceed Stephen Staunton.
Houllier has come out of nowhere following Terry Venables announcment on Radio show Talksport that he has had no contact with the FAI. Venables is thought to be eyeing up the Bulgarian job leaving Houllier in a strong position. The saga will continue for at least 2 more weeks
