The Irish squad trained on Monday afternoon in Malahide after the players who had been in action on Sunday had joined the group.
Steve Finnan did some light training as he had played in the Liverpool team that had beaten Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday.
Damien Duff sat out the last ten minutes of the session but Staunton was quick to confirm that there is no injury worry therer.
"Damien is fine, not a problem. Just a little tiredness", he said.
Staunton indicated that both Robbie Keane and Richard Dunne have had scans on their injuries. "In Robbie's case we are possibly looking at a ten day period of treatment with Richard's maybe a little longer", Staunton said.
There are no new call ups to the squad with Staunton, now with nineteen fit players.
“It's up to the players who play on Wednesday night to stake their claim in what will be a real test against top quality opposition", he added.
