The 25-year-old fractured his second metatarsal in the first half of Rangers’ 3-0 victory over Burnley at the weekend.

Initial x-rays were unclear but it now appears that the midfielder, who made his senior international debut against Romania in May, will be out of action for at least six weeks.

Rowlands moved across London from Brentford to Loftus Road in the summer of 2003, and made an immediate impact as Ian Holloway’s side claimed promotion to the Coca-Cola Championship, winning the Player of the Year award in his first season at the club.

Rowland's then went on to make 3 international appearences. He made his debut against Romania and then followed them up with summer Unity Cup appearences with Nigeria and Jamaica.
