Manager Raymond Domenech has called up both for the Paris clash with the Irish next Saturday, October 9 and the trip to face Cyprus four days later.

An unconvincing start to the campaign has seen the World Cup champions draw 0-0 with Israel in Paris before beating the Faroe Islands 2-0.

Domenech has also awarded a first call-up to Juventus defender Jonathan Zebina.

Arsenal’s Patrick Vieira is included in the squad despite being suspended for the clash with Ireland at the Stade de France. Seven of the 20-man panel play their club football in the UK.

French Squad: Barthez (Marseilles), Coupet (Lyon), Boumsong (Rangers), Evra (Monaco), Gallas (Chelsea), Givet (Monaco), Silvestre (Manchester United), Squillaci (Monaco), Zebina (Juventus), Dacourt (Roma), Diarra (Lens), Mavuba (Bordeaux), Vieira (Arsenal), Cisse (Liverpool), Giuly (Barcelona), Govou (Lyon), Henry (Arsenal), Pires (Arsenal), Trezeguet (Juventus), Wiltord (Lyon).
