Delaney delighted with UEFA funding
The money will go towards the FAI's Technical five-year Development Plan.

FAI chief executive John Delaney said that he was delighted at the news of the Uefa backing.

"With non-qualification for the World Cup this year, receiving the Uefa contribution is particularly welcome at this time," said the FAI chief.

"We are delighted that Uefa are supporting our plans to develop the game particularly for the grass roots in such a tangible way.

"The FAI made the case to Uefa that growing the overall infrastructure to aid the development of the game at all levels within Ireland, not just elite, was a great challenge for an association of our scale," added Mr Delaney.
