Eircom League round-up

Drogheda United went into their clash with Bohemians on Friday night topping the table on goal difference over European high-flyers Shels.

The Louth men were fortunate as Bohemians dominated the game for long periods hitting the crossbar on two occasions while Drogheda also played the last 20 minutes with ten men following Steven Grey's dismissal.

Bohemians will be wondering how they failed to claim all three points as they did everything put score. Having switched to their away all-blue strip for the game to bring better luck (they have yet to lose in their change strip), they certainly did play better than in recent weeks, but their luck deserted them as they missed countless chances. So Drogheda stayed top on Friday night by one point.

Elsewhere, Waterford United beat Shamrock Rovers 2-1. last minute winner by Daryl Murphy gave Waterford United the win.

Rovers were the better side for long periods but failed to take their chances allowing Waterford to steal the points late on.
