Ker said: “We came here for three points and we got them. It was a hard scrap and we did not play very well. We played better in our other matches away from home but got very little out of them.
“Cyprus played well, I think they were inspired by the atmosphere created by the Irish fans.”
Kerr said there were times when Ireland’s positioning in defence was poor while Ireland gave the ball away too cheaply and there was not enough movement on the wings.
He added: “We made a change at half-time and brought Mattie Holland in and it worked well. We played better in the second half and we had a couple of chances to put them away, Robbie had two good chances.
“Overall we did not play as well as we can and we will have to do better on Wednesday.”
