Dave wants to get his Irish Kitson

Kitson was born in Hitchin, just outside London, but qualifies for the Irish team through a grandparent.

The ginger striker is 25 years old and is looking to follow Jon Macken onto the international stage.

"I would certainly speak to Ireland if they were interested as my grandfather on my dad's side is Irish. Had I been fit and scored 25 goals then maybe I would have got a phone call", he told the Reading Evening Post

He has scored almost 60 goals for Cambridge and Reading but it remains to see whether his 'desire' to represent Ireland comes to more than Zat Knight's.
