Benitez confirms Keane interest

Robbie Keane is still on Liverpools radar and is meant to be looking for a move to Anfield. With Spaniard Fernando Torres showing what he can do over the last season a second striker like Keane will help the reds title bid.

Tottenham have are looking at Espanyol forward Luis Garcia and Keane may be pushed down the pecking order. This gives Benitez an opportunity to approach Keane and he said the club had made contact with Spurs. He ruled out a move for David Villa.

"We know Villa is a very good player, we know the price and we know the players we have, so when you consider everything we decided he was one of the names, but at this moment, not our target."

Benitez said about Keane

"Keane is one of the other names and okay we are still working with other names. We were in contact and we will see now."
