Roy Keane's competitive comeback for Ireland has been put on hold due to 2 broken ribs he sustained during Ireland's friendly match with Bulgaria two weeks ago.

Matt Holland, Keane's midfield partner, has also been ruled out after injurying himself during Charlton's early season Premiership games. Fellow Midfielder Liam Miller, who has impressed during Manchester United's opening games this season also sees himself ruled out with a torn calf muscle, which sees the Corkman return to Manchester for treatment.

Graham Barrett of Coventry City has been called into Brian Kerr's squad as a direct replacement for Miller but is unlikely to begin the game.

Rory Delap is also unavailable so the starting line up may be:

Given, Carr, Cunningham, O'Brien, O'Shea, Reid, Kilbane, Kavanagh, Duff, Morrison, Keane.
