A number of high profile players return to the squad which drew 0-0 with Poland last time out. Manchester United skipper Roy Keane is featured again, with Paddy Kenny, Steve Finnan, Gary Breen, Matt Holland, Rory Delap, Stephen McPhail, Jason McAteer, David Connolly and Robbie Keane also making returns.
Four uncapped players make their bows with Celtic's Glasgow-born talent Aidan McGeady amongst them. Coventry City's Michael Doyle, the only one with previous senior squad experience, Stoke City's Clive Clarke and QPR's Martin Rolland included also.
The Romania fixture takes place on Thursday May 27th at Lansdowne Road, with the Unity Cup to follow - ending on June 2nd. Three days later, the Republic will take on Holland in the Amsterdam Arena.
