Dunne on the way out

Last updated : 27 August 2009 By Paul Jennings
Richard Dunne is wanted by Aston Villa in a £6M deal. Manchester City are ready to offload their 29 year old captain, and hand the captains armband to Kolo Toure. Dunne has captained City twice this season, but with the arrivals of Toure and Joleon Lescott his days look to be numbered.

Villa manager Martin O'Neill needs a quality centre back, and Dunne fits the bill perfectly. THe Dubliner has played for Manchester City for nine seasons making 350 appearances. He was voted club player of the year on three occasions and is a fans favourite. His move to a new club is neccessary as he wants first team football in his quest to help Ireland qualify for the World Cup.
