O'Callaghan shock?

George O'Callaghan has returned to the Eircom League Premier Division after joining newcomers Dundalk F.C. The Cork born attacking-midfielder was one the Leagues bright lights over the past 6 years. He has ended a third spell in England by leaving Tranmere Rovers where he spent part of last season and made 6 appearances this term. O'Callaghan was voted Eircom Player of the Year in 2005 after Cork City's league championship win.

Dundalk manager Sean Connor spoke to dundalkfc.com

"I am delighted to be bringing George O'Callaghan to this football club. He is one of the top players in the league and his arrival should send out a message to our supporters about the ambitions this club has. We worked very hard over the past week to bring George to Oriel Park and I hope that Dundalk fans will see the benefit of that hard work in the season ahead".
