Golf Champions Of Football

By Footymad
Wednesday, 3rd March 2010
A host of football superstars will tee off at the "Golf Champions of Football" in Portugal this June in support of 'Keep Your Eye on the Ball', an initiative run by The FA.

The PFA and Everyman to raise awareness and funds for male cancer research.

Eight stars from the world of football, who together have represented over 30 Football Clubs across the UK, will join supporters that are as passionate about golf as they are about the wonderful game for some sun and fun at the prestigious Vila Sol Golf Club.

Footie fans will mingle with some of their football heroes such as Andy Keogh, Neil Cox, Darren Purse and Sky TV pundits Paul Walsh, Don Goodman and Peter Beagrie and have the chance to win this brand new golf competition in their club colours and claim the bragging rights for their chosen football club back home.

A donation of £40 per man, proceeds from a charity putting competition and auction will go to the 'Keep Your Eye on the Ball' initiative which funds Everyman's vital research into prostate and testicular cancers.

"We already have 16 teams entered, so football fans who play golf need to dust down their spikes quickly if they are to stand a chance of representing their club out in the Algarve in June," says Darryl Kenyon of DK Events that is staging the inaugural tournament.

"In addition to extending their support for their chosen team on the fairways, fans competing in the "Golf Champions of Football" are in for a golf break like no other with friendly banter between fans, competitive golf over championship courses, lots of off-course entertainment and of course some wonderful Portuguese sunshine alongside 100 drinks vouchers per team.

The "Golf Champions of Football" 2010 package is priced at £650 per person, £1,250 per two-ball and £2,400 per four-ball that includes all golf, gifts, three nights of five-star accommodation including breakfast and after-golf refreshments, Faro airport transfers and a Gala Evening dinner.

Visit www.golfchampionsoffootball.com to book your spot. And quote 'FootyMad 2010' to earn a free upgrade from hotel to garden suites - a benefit worth £200 per team.
